The Butchery at Bowhouse is seeking an energetic individual who shares a passion for food and the food and drink industry. Butchery at Bowhouse specialises in dry aged, organic, pasture fed livestock from Balcaskie Estate, which is home to several food and drink businesses.
As an Organic and Pasture for Life Certified butchery, our customers actively support our methods. Supplying some of Scotland’s top restaurants, retailing both at Bowhouse and online to a growing market.
Being part of Balcaskie Estate, we work closely with the farming team to select livestock for the butchery,
The day-to-day role will involve;
• Working alongside our current butchers
• Learning about what we do at Balcaskie from Birth to Block, regenerative farming systems, native breeds, butchery techniques, and customer relationships -The values which make customers choose the Butchery
at Bowhouse.
• Deliveries to wholesale customers
• A varied role include cooking on our woodfired barbecue at markets and events.

Butchery experience is not essential as training and qualifications will be provided. The most important attribute is a willingness to learn, and the ability to communicate with customers. The role may be suited for someone with a food/cooking background.

We are able to offer flexibility in working hours but require work some weekends for our monthly Bowhouse market and events.

What you need;
- Practical aptitude
- Ability to follow instructions and take responsibility
- Excellent communication skills
- A driving licence would be an advantage to assist with the delivery of produce.
